Job: Specification Writer

Specification Writer Responsibilities: Our client currently has an opportunity for a Specification Writer in the Architecture and Interior Design group. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Interpret architectural and engineering plans. • Prepare materials lists and specifications to be utilized in construction activities. • Analyze plans and drawings to be able to determine materials specifications. • Write technical descriptions specifying material quantities and properties • Write Outline Specifications • Interpret architectural, engineering and contract documents (drawings and specifications) and assist the Project Manager in locating information particular to the project • Write Technical Bulletins Qualifications: • Post Secondary Education • Registered Specification Writer, CSC • Member of Construction Specification Canada • Candidate should be familiar with the following o Familiar with Master Format 2004 Edition o CCDC 2 – 2008 o Alberta Building Code 2006, o National Building Code o Familiar with current Building, Material Standards o Canadian Master Specifications o National Specifications
